Recently, it was announced that Big Boss Tamil fame Kavin will be teaming up with Bigil fame Amritha Aiyer for a thriller film titled Lift. Along with the announcement came the first look poster of the film that was received well by fans and audiences raking in more than a million tweets. This is the first Tamil film that actor Kavin has chosen to be a part of after nearly completing 100 days in the Bigg Boss house.

The latest is that another member from the cast of Bigil, model turned actress Gayathri Reddy who essayed the role of ‘Maari’, has joined the team for an important role. Though the actress had confirmed the same on an Instagram live chat previously, the official announcement is out now.

Written and directed by former ad filmmaker Vineeth Varaprasad, the thriller is being bankrolled by Hepzi under the Ekaa Entertainment banner.
Speaking about her role in the film, Gayathri says, “I play a very strong character in the film and I can’t put in words how happy I am with the role. Vineeth has designed my character so well that I could see how I had forgotten that I was Gayathri and gotten into the skin of the character. There are also sequences in the film that bring out the emotional quotient of my character.”
She believes that the film will help boost the careers of all actors and technicians working on it. “Vineeth works without any confusion on set and manages to weave magic into the film with his screenplay. I’m sure the audience would feel the magic too when they witness Lift.”
YouTube channel ‘Temple Monkeys’ fame Abdool Lee has also played an important role in the film. On the technical front, S Yuva has cranked camera, Britto Michael has scored music, G Madan has edited and MSP Madhavan has handled art. Tapas Nayak has handled sound design with Stunner Sam choreographing stunts for the film.
The team wrapped up shoot before lockdown and is currently working on postproduction. The teaser of Lift will also be out soon.
Last month, the makers released a behind-the-scenes video of the poster photoshoot and stills from the film.
