BJP MP Subramanian Swamy Wants To Know Why Rajinikanth Gambled; Here’s Why It Doesn’t Matter

Following a tweet from Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy in which he criticises Rajinikanth for gambling, a spokesperson for Rajini has said that the Superstar was on a personal trip, and could do as he wished on his vacation time. The criticism comes in the wake of signs that Rajinikanth is preparing to enter Tamil Nadu politics.

Speaking to Silverscreen, the spokesperson said, “It’s high time the media stops giving importance to a man who probably never goes for vacations and has to do such things. Rajini sir is on a personal trip.”

Earlier, Swamy tweeted a picture in which Rajinikanth can allegedly be seen gambling at a casino. Swamy questioned the reason for actor’s trip, implying that going there for his health was just an excuse. He also wanted the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to look into the source of Rajini’s income.

When a Twitter user asked Swamy why he was damaging Rajini’s chances in future elections as part of the BJP party in Tamil Nadu, Swamy said, “[Rajinikanth] will spoil Tamil Nadu politics.”

Earlier, Silverscreen had reported that Rajinikanth was in the Sates with his daughter Aishwarya Dhanush for a regular medical check-up.

This isn’t the first time that Swamy has criticised Rajinikanth. According to a News18 report, Swamy had questioned Rajinikanth’s qualifications to contest in the Tamil Nadu elections or even to join politics at all. He had said, “His political debut would spell disaster.”

“He has no future in politics. A new generation of very educated Tamilians who are assertive, influential now want national politics to come to Tamil Nadu. He is unsuitable for becoming the chief minister of Tamil Nadu,” he had said.

Meanwhile, a selfie video of Rajini – enjoying a ride in a Ferrari – has gone viral.
