Brothers Likely to be Remade in Tamil and Telugu

Brothers, starring Akshay Kumar and Siddarth Malhotra, is gearing up for an August 14 release. Brothers is an official remake of the Hollywood film Warrior (2011). Reports suggest that the film will soon be remade in Tamil and Telugu. Actors like Suriya, Vikram, Karthi, Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Ram Charan are some of the names being considered for the remake(s).

The success of films like Drishyam and Baahubali have given producers belief in pan-Indian scripts which will suit all types of audiences. Ram Mirchandani, COO – Motion Pictures at Endemol Shine India –  has told The Hindu: “The script is very Indian at heart. I’ve requested Suriya, Karthi, Vikram, Ram Charan, Rana Daggubati and Prabhas to watch the Hindi adaptation next week, and [we] will soon take forward talks on the remakes in Tamil and Telugu.”

Baahubali‘s Hindi dubbed version has grossed over Rs 100 crores so far. This is the first ever dubbed film to achieve the feat.
