Chaya Singh, who made her debut in Tamil cinema opposite Dhanush in Thiruda Thirudi says her role in Dhanush’s directorial debut Power Paandi is “simple and sweet”. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, she said, “Thiruda Thirudi’s director Subramaniyam Siva, who is working on Power Pandi, referred me to Dhanush. Later we all met, and Dhanush agreed that I fit the role. I won’t be seen throughout the film though. It’s a simple and sweet role!”
On the experience of being directed by Dhanush, she said it was easy because he understands acting. She said, “I never felt that I was working with a first-time director. Dhanush is child-like with the kids on the sets. When the actor is also a director, the work is a lot easier as he knows what he wants. I will resume shooting by the end of December.”
