A Chennai resident has filed a complaint against Kamal Haasan for claiming that ‘Nilavembu’ tonic could have side effects.
Kamal Haasan recently tweeted that the ‘Nilavembu’ herbal tonic that has been prescribed for dengue may have side effects.

In his tweets, Kamal asks his fan clubs and supporters to not sell the herbal medicine. He also said that it is traditionally known that ‘Nilavembu’ tonic could have side effects, and those who’re claiming tradition and culture should also research this.

According to a story in Dinamalar, this has prompted a resident of Chennai, Devarajan, to file a complaint against the actor. In his complaint, Devarajan claims he has been taking the tonic for over 10 years and has not seen any side effect. He also claimed that Kamal is spreading fake news with his tweet, and requests the police to take action against it. The cyber crime division will handle the case.
