Complaint Against Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju Over Toilet Scene

Ranbir Kapoor At The Sanju Teaser Launch

The Central Board of Film Certification has received a complaint against Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju. An activist, Prithvi Mhaske, has alleged that the scene showing a toilet leak in Sanjay Dutt’s jail cell will tarnish the image of the Indian prison system.

In his complaint, Mhaske wrote: “In the trailer of the movie, we have seen a scene that Sanjay Dutt was in such a barrack of a jail in which the toilet overflowed. As per the information available, the government and jail authorities are taking care of all the barracks of the jails. We never heard any such incidents anywhere.”

Mhaske pointed out that earlier movies based on gangsters where jails are shown did not feature such scenes.

“This particular scene will make a bad impression about the jails and jails authorities of Indians. If there is no action about the same by you then we are left with no option to approach the honourable court to put stay on the release of the movie,” he added.

Sanju follows the life and times of actor Sanjay Dutt. Ranbir Kapoor takes on the titular role while Paresh Rawal and Manisha Koirala play Sunil and Nargis Dutt respectively.
