The Cricket World Cup finals clashed with Wimbledon finals on Sunday, in what was one of the most thrilling evenings for sports lovers around the world.
England and New Zealand finished with 241 runs each to tie at the World Cup Cricket finals. They scored the same 15 runs in the Super Over too, and the higher number of boundaries by England won them the title.
The Wimbledon finals, also held in London at the same time, saw Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic playing upto 12-12 in the final set. For the first time a winner was decided by a tie-breaker and it was also the longest finals so far. Djokovic won the 13th tie breaker set and his fifth title.
People around the world watched both matches, tweeting about it live. Celebrities such as Siddharth, Taapsee Pannu, Anurag Kashyap, Vikram Prabhu, Madhavan and others tweeted every few minutes.
Actor Dhanush, a fan of Rafael Nadal, has a poster of of the tennis player lifting the Wimbledon trophy as his pinned tweet. Nadal lost to Roger Federer in the semi-finals this year.

Director Anurag Kashyap said it was a memorable day and great fight to finish, and said filmmaking was nothing compared to playing the game.
With the Wimbledon and the Cricket finals , this had to be the greatest day in the sports of all time for the fans…worthy opponents and what a great fight to finish . Filmmaking is nothing compared to playing the game … what a day this .. 14th July 2019 . Will not forget

If in a super over a country can win by the virtue of more boundaries then why can a country not win by the virtue of losing lesser wickets in the actual match? There is a serious problem with the your rules @ICC @cricketworldcup

New Zealand is the champion for me, whatever the outcome ..
