Director Siddharth Anand is in talks with actress Deepika Padukone for the role of the female lead in his next. The project, an Indo-Chinese collaboration, will also star Mermaid actor Deng Chao.

“It’s a cross-cultural romance set in Beijing. I’m excited to explore and showcase another culture through this film. Our Chinese producers have suggested Deng Chao’s name but we will take a final call when I visit China. The film will have an A-list actress who already has an international presence, so it could possibly be one of them,” Siddharth Anand is quoted as saying.
Priyanka Chopra is also one of the contenders for the lead role, but reports suggest that Padukone has a better chance of being cast in the project.
