Actress Charmme Kaur’s recent comments about her co-star Nithiin’s film may lead to legal trouble for her. Unhappy with her remarks, Nithiin’s father, producer Sudhakar Reddy, is likely to file a defamation case against Charmme.
Charmme had recently tweeted that the Puri Jagannadh film which featured her and Nithiin in leading roles had been shelved for financial reasons. It seems the statement had no basis in facts, and although she has subsequently apologized, Reddy is not happy. He has thus filed a complaint with the Telugu Film Producers Council (TFPC). Council secretary K. Venkateshwara Rao confirmed the news to Silverscreen, saying: “We’ve received a complaint from producer Sudhakar. We’re discussing the next course of action.”
According to a source, Sudhakar Reddy wants to handle the matter legally because his morale has been affected by Charmme’s comments. Reportedly, Charmme’s interest in being a part of the production contributed to the fallout of the Puri-Nithiin project.
