Dhanush has been ordered to pay a fine of Rs. 60,000 for illegally using public electricity supplies to power his caravan.
Daily Thanthi reports that the actor and his family were in Theni district of Tamil Nadu to visit their ancestral temple. A caravan belonging to Dhanush was also brought along, to allow the family to rest near the temple.

However, it is reported that the power supply for the caravan was taken from an electricity meter fitted on to a street lamp.
The State Electricity Board was informed of the same, and officials arrived at the spot to investigate. Daily Thanthi reports that after investigation, the board officials confiscated the caravan, and levied a fine of Rs. 60,000 on Dhanush, as well as a fee of Rs. 15, 731 as charges for electricity drawn from the public grid.
Dhanush paid the fines and the charges, and the board then returned the caravan to him.
