A spokesperson of the actor, however, refused to divulge any details. “Only Dhanush sir and the actors know the script and the roles they are playing. Even the producer doesn’t know the script completely. Filmmakers these days are wary of revealing details of the story as cases are filed against films based on rumours, even before the film’s release. To avoid such crisis, the story is kept under wraps,” he told Silverscreen.
The Tamil-Telugu bilingual boasts of a stellar star cast with Dhanush, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Sarath Kumar, SJ Suriya, Srikanth and Aditi Rao Hydari in pivotal roles.
Nagarjuna, who is currently awaiting the release of his film Devadas, told that The Times Of India, “It’s a period drama and this role is extra special to me because I’ve attempted something I’ve never done before. I play a character who goes 600 years back in time. It’s an interesting role.” In a separate separate report Aditi Rao Hydari too said the same thing.
Dhanush’s directorial debut was Pa Paandi, starring Rajkiran, Prasanna, Madonna Sebastian and Revathy. The film released in 2017. Scripted and produced by Dhanush, it was a slice-of-life film on the life of a former stunt master who embarks on a journey to track his first love.
On the work front, the actor is awaiting the release of Vada Chennai directed by Vetrimaaran on October 17, the long-delayed romantic thriller Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, which is releasing during Diwali along with Vijay’s Sarkar. He also has Balaji Mohan’s Maari 2, a sequel to 2015 movie.
