The music composer for Enai Noki Payum Thota starring Dhanush and Megha Akash is newcomer Darbuka Siva (Kidaari). On new year’s eve, the team released a teaser of the song “Maru Varthai Pesathey” without naming the music composer.
Varanam Aayiram director GV Menon had kept the name under wraps. Following the release of the teaser, he tweeted:
A song is mostly judged or liked also by who the music director is. Please listen to #MaruVarthaiPesathey&like it purely on it's own merit.

In the past, GV Menon has worked on musical blockbusters like Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya where he collaborated with AR Rahman and Vaaranam Ayiram where he worked with Harris Jayaraj. Siva has thus far composed for Sasikumar’s Kidaari and Bale Valleya Theva.
An impressed Menon had released a single from Kidaari, Darbuka Siva’s debut track, in July. At that time, he tweeted:
