In an earlier IANS interview, Dhanush confirmed that his next Hindi film is with Aanand L Rai. “Yes, I will be teaming up with him in some time, but other than that, I am waiting for the right script to come my way. I am doing a Hindi film and there will be an announcement about it soon,” he said.

A source close to the film told Indian Express, “Sara Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan were approached for this movie after Dhanush. And, while an official announcement is yet to happen, the makers are quite excited for it already.” The producer of the film, Colour Yellow, had announced earlier this year that it would launch six projects in 2019.

According to  reports, the Dhanush-starrer will feature three lead characters in a love triangle, similar to his first Hindi film Raanjhanaa (2013), co-starring Sonam Kapoor and Swara Bhaskar and directed by Aanand L Rai, but the story of this film is said to be entirely different.

Aanand L Rai, who last directed Zero, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, had said after the film was poorly received that he was learning from failure, but would continue to experiment.

Dhanush is also known for his role in Balki’s Shamitabh starring Amitabh Bachchan and Akshara Haasan.

Meanwhile, the second-look posters of Dhanush’s much-awaited Vetrimaaran directorial Asuran have released. The posters feature Dhanush in two looks, and one of them has him holding a blood-stained sickle.

Dhanush recently clarified that his roles in the film are set in different time periods. He will be seen as a father and son in Asuran, a story based on Poonami’s novel Vekkai, which is about a man avenging his father’s death. The film stars Manju Warrier as the female lead, and will release this October.

Dhanush also has Pattas, which is likely to release during the Christmas weekend, and clash at the box-office with Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru and Sivakarthikeyan’s Hero. Unconfirmed reports also say that his long-delayed Enai Noki Paayum Thotta, the Gautham Menon film, may release before this on September 6.
