Actor Dhanush recently made it to the headlines for signing a Hollywood film titled The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir, directed by Iranian-born director Marjane Satrapi. The latest update is that the actor will start shooting for this film from June 15. Dhanush will be playing the role of a magician in the film, and will share screen space Hollywood actresses Uma Thurman and Alexandra Daddario.
Satrapi, a French comic book artist and film maker, is known for her Cannes’ jury prize-winner Persepolis and Chicken With Plums.
“I am very excited by this opportunity to work in a full length Hollywood film –The Extraordinary Journey Of the Fakir for the first time. The director Marjane Satrapi felt I would be apt for this role and I feel there are many facets I can explore for this character. I thank my fans and media for constantly standing by me and pushing me to explore new endeavours and challenges all the time”, said Dhanush in a press statement.

In the films of Dhanush that I have seen, he has embraced each and every role. I saw a lot of Indian actors, but once I saw Dhanush, I became obsessed with him. And when I finally met him in London, he was confirmed for the role.”
Dhanush has completed the first schedule of Durai Senthilkumar’s Kodi and has allotted 200 days of his schedule for Vetri Maaran’s Vada Chennai.
