Nikhil Advani’s production Lucknow Central will now star Diana Penty as the female lead. This comes after reports that newbies Saiyami Kher and Kriti Sanon being considered for the role made the rounds. The movie will be directed by debutante Ranjit Tiwari and would see Farhan Akhtar playing the main lead. As per a report in Deccan Chronicle, Kriti Sanon is said to have faced date issues and certain rumours suggest the makers felt she was “too glamorous” for the role of an NGO worker. Saiyami Kher was said to have been roped in after her. The dust seems to have settled and Diana Penty has been finalised.
A source close to the film unit added, “After the makers roped in Saiyami, they felt that she isn’t best suited for the role either. Hence, they replaced her with Diana Penty.”
An official announcement has to be made regarding the final cast of the movie. Diana Penty was last seen in the 2016 Ali Fazal starer Happy Bhag Jayegi which received rave reviews. She debuted in the 2012 Saif Ali Khan-Deepika Padukone starer Cocktail.
