Director JS Nandhini, whose last film was the 2009 romantic comedy Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru, is making a comeback with a supernatural thriller titled Sivappu Kal Mookuthi, which will be a digital comic novel. The director stated that graphic novels were a wonderful way to convey stories. A three-minute trailer was released yesterday, and has been received positively.

The story revolves around a couple, Varun and Mayam, who go on a business trip together. Maya stumbles upon a shimmering red nose ring (‘Sivappu Kal Mookuthi’ in Tamil), which alters her behaviour. Coincidentally, mysterious deaths begin to occur. The story follows Varun’s quest to unravel the mystery behind the ring and the deaths.
Sivappu Kal Mookuthi has artwork by R Magesh and B Sainath, and music composed by Ashwath Naganathan of Nalanum Nandhiniyum fame.
Two years ago, Nandhini’s Kolai Nokku Parvai had been shelved for unknown reasons.
