In Mary Poppins Returns, a personal crisis necessitates the arrival of the umbrella wielding nanny and a new sidekick: Pulitzer Prize–winning Lin-Manuel Miranda as the lamp-lighter. “Through her unique magical skills, and with the aid of her friend Jack, she helps the family rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives,” the studio said in a statement.
Mary Poppins Returns is the latest in a series of reboots, which includes last year’s live action version of Cinderella, and the Emma Watson fronted Beauty and the Beast, which will release shortly.
