Enthaada Saji will see Boban and Jayasurya team up five years after their last collboration, Shajahanum Pareekuttiyum (2016).

Along with the announcement, makers also released a motion poster of the film on social media on Tuesday. The film, written and directed by debutant filmmaker Godfy Babu, is backed by Listin Stephen under the Magic Frames banner.

Speaking to Silverscreen India about his maiden feature film, director Godfy who has also written the story, screenplay and dialogues, said, “It is a family-oriented film filled with humour. The audience can come watch it with their families and have a good laugh. There is a lot of natural humour and the film caters to all age groups.”

The filmmaker said that although he had been working on feature film scripts since 2012, Enthaada Saji was born only during the Covid-19 lockdown period in 2020.

“There are two stars in the film, Kunchacko Boban and Jayasurya, and the film completely revolves around their story, families, and village. The film explores a different type of friendship between them, with Saji (in the title) played by Jayasurya” he added.

Godfy mentioned that the team will slowly reveal the other cast members in the coming days and mentioned that Enthaada Saji will have several known faces of the Malayalam industry along with newcomers. “Both of the actors’ combination films have been successful in the past. This is their fifth collaboration. I felt that the chemistry between them is beautiful and moreover, they have a high humour sense,” Godfy said.

The film will go on floors from mid-December and is currently in pre-production stages. It will be shot by cinematographer Roby Varghese Raj in Thodupuzha in Kerala. The team is looking to release the film in theatres in April or May, 2022.
