Facebook will be coming up with a 12-episode docu-series of Brandon Stanton’s Humans of New York. It is one of the shows that Facebook is funding for its new Watch video tab, which it announced earlier this month.
Much like the blog, the Humans of New York Facebook series too will showcase the candid conversations with strangers on the streets of New York city.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stanton said, “Facebook has had a huge role in the creation of Humans of New York,” adding that he was attracted to the global reach of Facebook as two-third of his viewers are international audience.

Stanton told The Hollywood Reporter that he had started this project four years ago and has over 400 days of filming, interviewed more than 1,200 people. He said, “It seemed to be a natural evolution to do some interviews on film.”
Stanton started Humans of New York in 2010 and has featured portraits of nearly 10,000 New Yorkers so far. The blog has then expanded into two New York Times bestsellers. With tremendous social media response, on Facebook alone, Humans of New York has more than 18 million followers.
