Several Internet users have reacted negatively to a photoshoot featuring Dangal star Fatima Sana Shaikh. Fatima, who is currently shooting for Aamir Khan’s Thugs Of Hindostan, recently did a shoot for GQ magazine.
In the shoot, she poses by the beach in a monokini. The offended commentators have said that the shoot is ill-timed and disrespects the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

Predictably, the commentators have taken it upon themselves to dictate what someone – usually a woman – can or cannot do. Some commentators believe that Sana has shamed Islam, and that it is unacceptable. Some of the commentators have said that while Sana has the right to wear what she wants, as someone born into the Muslim faith, she should have exercised greater restraint, and preserved her dignity.
Sana hasn’t responded to the comments thus far.
