First Look Of Adivi Sesh’s ‘Major’ Launched

Adivi Sesh is set to make his Bollywood debut with the Sony Pictures produced Major. The movie, scripted by Shesh, is based on the life of army officer Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was killed during the 26/11 attacks that took place at the Taj Palace hotel in Mumbai.

The first look of the movie was unveiled by Mahesh Babu who too is a co-producer on the movie. Major is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, who is also making his Bollywood debut. The director and actor earlier worked together on Goodachari

Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, a native of Kerala, led a team of National Security Guard (NSG) commandos to flush out terrorists from the Taj Palace Hotel. “Don’t come up, I will handle them,” were his last words. The army man was awarded the Ashok Chakra, the country’s highest peacetime gallantry award, on January 26, 2009.

Major will be shot as a bilingual – in Hindi and Telugu. The movie continues Sony Pictures International Productions (SPIP)’s foray into regional cinema which began with the recently released Malayalam film 9.

Talking about Major, Laine Kline, EVP & head, Sony Pictures International Productions says “We want to bring those stories that touch audiences’ hearts and yet entertain them. Major is a powerful story that will not just inspire Indians but will transcend boundaries. We couldn’t have asked for a more inspiring story for our first foray into the Telugu film industry,” as quoted by Variety.

The company has been involved in the making of Bollywood movies like PadMan and 102 Not Out.

Major has been co-produced by Sesh’s Adivi Entertainment and Sharath Chandra and Anurag Reddy’s A+S Movies. The shooting for the movie will start by summer and the makers are planning for a 2020 release.

Meanwhile, Adivi Sesh also has Goodachari 2 on the cards. The spy-thriller which released last year has gone on to become one of the biggest hits of the actor’s career.
