A painter working on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati, fell to his death on Sunday. Mukesh Dakia fell on his back from a height of 5 feet and sustained severe head injuries, according to a report in Mid-Day. He was declared dead on arrival at a hospital in Mumbai.

The Police have registered a case of accidental death, and are currently investigating. Reports indicate that a full inquiry into the safety controls in place on the set will be undertaken.
A spokesperson for Padmavati said through a statement, “What took place was extremely unfortunate and completely unforeseen. We are making every effort to help the authorities. Our support and prayers are with deceased’s family in this time of grief.”
Silverscreen has learnt that the team is planning to take care of the financial expenses of Dakia’s family.
