Kollywood actors Gautami Tadimalla and Prabhu are reportedly teaming up for a film. The two actors had last collaborated 26 years ago in Suresh Krissna’s Raja Kaiya Vacha. According to a Times of India report, Gautami’s spokesman confirmed that the actors have signed the necessary documents for the film.
Their last film together, Raja Kaiya Vacha in 1990 had Prabhu playing the role of a thief who falls in love with Gautami’s character, Vijaya. The film also had Sarath Kumar, Revathi, Janagaraj, and Nasser in important roles, with music scored by Illayaraja.
Gautami and Prabhu had acted together in two other films before Raja Kaiya Vacha. Incidentally, Gautami debuted in Tamil cinema with Guru Sishyan (1988) that starred Rajinikanth and Prabhu in the lead roles. Following that, in 1989, the two had acted in Pillaikkaga with Nasser and Tamil actress Rekha in supporting roles. The film was directed by actor-director P Vasu.

The two actors also have releases scheduled this year. Gautami’s recent trilingual drama Manamantha (Telugu)/Namadhu (Tamil)/Vismayam (Malayalam) was released on 5 August, marking her first release this year after 2015’s Papanasam opposite Kamal Haasan. Meanwhile, Prabhu was last seen in Unnodu Ka this year. Currently, he is filming for Amudeshwar’s Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum and Rajadurai’s Muthuramalingam with Gautham Karthik and Priya Anand.
While an associate close to the actors neither confirmed nor denied their collaboration, the two actors, however, remain unreachable.
