Gautham Karthik: “‘Communication Gap’ Is My Biggest Problem”

Gautham Karthik Communication

Gautham Karthik has revealed that ‘communication gap’ is his biggest problem. “When I made my acting debut, I didn’t know anyone. I wouldn’t talk to anybody and so I lost out on networking, which is perhaps one of the most important things an upcoming actor must do. I wanted to talk to someone about cinema, but I lost out on all these things because I was a little solitary.”

Karthik confessed that he found it difficult to easily strike up conversations with people. “I don’t interact much with people from the industry. I did not have the luxury of talking out my film decisions with someone else. So I made them on my own.”

Curiously enough, Gautham also said that he ‘learnt’ that someone who sees English films would not be able to work well in Tamil. “So, I began to actively seek out all kinds of Tamil films, in order to get a better idea of the industry.”

He also blames himself for the Muthuramalingam fiasco. “If my father had listened to the story, I wouldn’t have suffered so much abuse. Choosing this film was my decision and mine alone. My father has never ever interfered in my career. He wants me to succeed on my own. Just like he did.”
