With due respect and thanks to everybody involved with this film, the investors, people who have stood by the film and me, to those who have invested across my other films, to everybody who’s been of some form of support or the other to me#ENPTfromSept6th— Gauthamvasudevmenon (@menongautham) August 24, 2019
According to various reports, he has sold the theatrical rights to Vels Film International and the audio rights to a leading company, and the money from these sales will be used to settle pending dues.
Over the last three years the film faced multiple delays due to various reasons, including the director’s financial issues and the stay order issued by the Hyderabad High Court on all of the film’s producer SN Rajarajan’s movies. Talks have since been on between Arka Media Works, the producers of Baahubali who obtained the stay on release, and SN Rajarajan, the distributor of Baahubali in Tamil Nadu who allegedly has dues worth Rs 17.6 crores to settle. Sources told Silverscreen that two producers are likely to reach an agreement soon.
Another reported reason for delay is that Gautham Menon could not pay the last installment of Dhanush’s salary for working on this film. In March this year, the South Indian Film Financiers Association (SIFAA) also decided to stop funding the dircetor’s films till he released ENPT and his other pending film Dhruva Natchathiram, starring Vikram.

ENPT completed shoot in 2017 and was scheduled to release on Valentine’s Day that year, and later during Diwali 2018, but was pushed to April 2019 after it got clearance from the censor board. Megha Akash was supposed to make her debut with this film, but has since gone on to work on many movies. Sasikumar and Sunainaa also star in important roles, and Rana Daggubati has a cameo role.
A teaser released in 2016, and the film’s music by Darbuka Siva released later to much acclaim. The songs ‘Visiri’ and ‘Maruvaarthai’ became instant hits. However, all content related to the film was taken off YouTube, and the filmmakers will soon release them again.
Meanwhile, Gautham Menon has also reportedly completed shooting his web series on the late Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa. Further details about this project are awaited.
