Gautham Menon To Revive Dhuruva Natchathiram

Director Gautham Menon is set to revive his shelved project Dhuruva Natchathiram with actor Jayam Ravi. “The talks are in the initial stage, and it looks like the project is finalized”, a reliable source told Silverscreen.in.

Menon had started working on the project in 2013 with actor Suriya in the lead. However, it was shelved after the actor opted himself out of it. A NDTV report, dated 11 October, 2013, quoted the actor as saying, “I only do films if I like the story. I quite liked Gautham’s story, but requested him to tweak it a little. But I waited for six months and I am still waiting. Unfortunately, my wait has ended in vain, therefore I’m pulling out of this project”. Later, a March, 2015 report had suggested the project might be revived with actors Vikram and Nayanthara, and composer AR Rahman.

Dhuruva Natchathiram‘s shooting is expected to begin later this year. Sources close to the director said that music director Anirudh Ravichander would score tunes for the film. Also, it is being reported that the first copy rights of this film have been purchased by Escape Artists Motion Pictures.

The director is now working on a bilingual project, Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada, with STR and Manjima Mohan in the lead. He will start the pre-production works of Dhuruva Natchathiram after the release of Accham Yenbadhu.
