Hansika Motwani who was last seen in Sam Anton’s 100 alongside Atharvaa Murali had been keeping a low profile. The latest is that the actress will headline an untitled Telugu web series directed by G Ashok and an untitled Tamil horror-comedy directed by director duo Hari Shankar and Hareesh Narayan amongst other films. G Ashok, who had earlier helmed Pilla Zamindar and Bhaagamathie, has forayed into the digital platform for a ‘raw’ film starring Hansika. Hari Shankar and Hareesh Narayan, known for their stereoscopic 3D film Ambuli, make a comeback after their 2014 anthology horror Aaaah.

The shooting of the Telugu series is currently happening in Mumbai and features cast from the Tollywood industry too. A source close to the team told Deccan Chronicle, “Director Ashok couldn’t think of any other actress who can bring to life the crazy yet sensible character. To add to that, Hansika’s oomph takes it notches higher. While her role has been kept under wraps, we expect Hansika to sink her teeth into this new character – just like she’s done in her earlier films.”
Hari Shankar and Hareesh Narayan have roped in former cricketer Sreesanth for the horror-comedy and are yet to finalise the rest of the cast. It is being produced by P Ranganathan under the Sri Vaari Films banner. The team will reportedly begin shooting in December and plan to release the film in summer 2020.
Hansika’s 50th film, Maha is an emotional thriller directed by UR Jameel. Produced by V Mathiyalagan under his Etcetera Entertainment banner, the film features Thambi Ramaiah and Karunakaran in prominent roles. J Laxman is handling cinematography, Ghibran is composing music, JR John Abraham is on edit, Manimozhian Ramadurai is taking care of art and Thalapathy Dinesh will be choreographing stunts. The team is planning a summer 2020 release.

The actress will also be seen headlining debutant Manoj Damodharan’s Partner along with actor Aadhi Pinisetty. The comedy entertainer with a dash of sci-fi is being bankrolled by RFC Creations. Actors Palak Lalwani, Yogi Babu, Robo Shankar, and R Pandiarajan are also a part of the cast.
Speculations were rife that the actress will play the female lead in a fantasy film alongside Saravanan Arul, owner of the popular Saravana Stores. The actress, however, refuted the rumours spread and clarified that they were baseless.

The teaser of the actress’ Telugu film Tenali Ramkrishna BA BL dropped recently and has garnered over three million views. She will be romancing Sundeep Kishan in the comedy entertainer helmed by G. Nageswara Reddy. Agraharam Nagireddy, K. Sanjeeva Reddy, Sreenivas Indumuri and Rupa Jagadish are producing the film which also features Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Murali Sharma, Vennela Kishore, and others in prominent roles.
