Highway is the title of the upcoming Telugu film directed by KV Guhan and starring actor Anand Deverakonda in the lead role. The film was officially launched at an event held in Hyderabad, on Thursday.
The chief guests of the ceremony were Gadari Kishore Kumar, MLA of Thungathurthi constituency, Telangana, and Telugu filmmaker M Veerabhadram.

The film, a crime thriller, is produced by Venkat Talari under the Sree Iswarya Lakshmi Movies banner. Highway is the banner’s second production venture after the Telugu romantic drama Chuttalabbai (2016).
Speaking at the launch of the film, Talari said that details about other cast members will soon be announced. The producer said that the film’s music will be composed by Simon K King, who has composed for films such as Kabadadaari (2021), and Raja Bheema (2019). Talking about the film, Talari added, “This is going to be a crime thriller featuring a psycho and is set against the backdrop of a highway.”

Guhan said that the pre-production works of the film are nearing completion. Highway is renowned cinematographer Guhan’s fourth directorial venture after Tamil romantic drama Inidhu Inidhu (2010), Telugu action film 118 (2019), and upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual film WWW.Â
Guhan who has written the story and screenplay of Highway is the cinematographer for the film as well.
Anand, who was last seen in Middle Class Melodies (2020), said, “This is my first time working with an experienced director and he is a superb cameraman. It will be a chance for me to try and learn new things.”
The makers added that shooting for the film is scheduled to begin in the first week of June.
