After a long delay, Seenu Ramasamy’s Kanne Kalaimaane is all set to hit the screens on February 22. The team is busy with promotions. While speaking at a press meet in Chennai recently, actress Tamannaah Bhatia said no other director understood her as well as Seenu Ramasamy. Director Seenu and Udhayanidhi Stalin, the actor and producer of the film, spoke about the strong women characters in Kanne Kalaimaane.
Tamannaah said, “Seenu Ramasamy sir has packaged the film with so many emotions. I am sure anyone watching this film without subtitles will be able to love and understand the emotions. The character of Bharathi is still resonating within me. Usually, I don’t ask whether we can work together again, but I am now asking Seenu Ramasamy sir to consider me for his future movies. I don’t think any other director understands me as well as Seenu Ramasamy does.”
Tamannaah’s character in the film was inspired by J Jayalalitha, said the director. “Tamannaah understood the scenes and emoted with even her eyes moistened. We have used references to late CM Jayalalitha Amma, the way she walked and dressed. We decided this because her role is so powerful as a strong thinking woman.”
Talking about the women characters and roles in the film, actor-producer Udhayanidhi Stalin said, “Vasundhara has the role of a childhood friend of mine in the film, and her role is so challenging. I suggest Tamannaah to act in Seenu Ramasamy sir’s films at least once a year. Her role in this film is enthralling and it is relateable to women and men. She has portrayed herself well as Bharathi. I have an emotional episode with Vadivukarasi Amma in climax and it is unforgettable.”
