Addressing reporters recently, the actor said, “I don’t think there is any problem with the film’s release. They are trying to ban the film over nothing. This film is not only for the Tamil people settled there, but also for people of all languages. They are looking forward to watching this movie. It is not good to disappoint them. I have full faith in the Karnataka Government, and I know that they will do everything in their power to ensure the smooth release of this movie. If the situation arises, they will also provide protection to the theatres in the state.”
Recently, actor Dhanush (also the film’s producer) moved the Karnataka HC seeking police protection for theatres screening the film.
Sharing water from the Cauvery between the Southern states has become a contentious issue in recent times.
