At the press meet of Darling, GV Prakash Kumar declared that he would not quit composing.

He also revealed that AR Murugadoss was the first one to find the actor in him. “He wanted to introduce me, and he also wrote a story for me. But owing to production issues, the movie was dropped. And Pencil took off last year,” said GV Prakash.
The composer-turned-actor added, “I am composing for 10 films this year. I will never stop. And my friends Atlee, Vijay (AL), Vetrimaaran and Anurag Kashyap would cast me in their films. Naangelaam orey set!” he laughed.
Pencil was the first film that GV Prakash signed on as an actor. But Darling hits the theatres first. The film releases on Pongal.
