Ilaiyarajaa has signed on as the music director of Kidaa Poosari Magudi, directed by debutant Jayakumar and featuring new faces. He has finished recording five songs for the film – written by Mu. Metha – and the Jaikumar says that the soundtrack will get the same kind of recognition as Gautham Menon’s Neethane En Ponvasantham. Ilaiyaraaja signed on to the project only after watching large portions of the movie’s footage.

The film has been shot in rural Tamilnadu and will focus on the love between a mother and her child. Talking about the premise, a press release from the filmmakers says, “Even when a girl gets married forcibly to someone , the birth of her child will make her forget all her previous love affairs. If she hates her husband, then the love that she has for her children will completely negate any bad feelings.”
The movie is produced by Thamizhmani under his Tamizh Thirai Virutcham banner. The producer also debuts as one of the leads. Ramdev is the other lead, with Natchathira playing the heroine. Singampuli, Powerstar Srinivasan and Bondamani round out the rest of the supporting cast. Director Jayakumar previously assisted Velu Prabakaran. Ravi Srinivasan handles the camera with Muthu Muniyasamy editing. Stunts are by Mirattal Selva. Nikil Murugan handles Public Relations.
