Imaikkaa Nodigal is getting ready for a July release, producer Jayakumar revealed at the audio launch of the film. “We are wrapping up post-production work, and are gearing up to release it by the end of July this year,” he said.
The film was originally written for a male lead, but once Nayanthara came on board, the script was tweaked for her, he added. “The movie is an emotional thriller that focusses on sibling love. Nayanthara, Atharvaa and Anurag Kashyap have pivotal roles. But, the 15 minutes that Vijay Sethupathy appears in are the most emotional and will move the audience,” said the producer.
Hip Hop Tamizha duo Aadhi and Jeeva are the film’s composers. Among the lead actors, only Raashi Khanna was present at the launch. Atharvaa, Nayanthara and director Anurag Kashyap, who plays the antagonist, could not attend the event as it was organised at the last minute. Atharvaa tweeted his inability to attend the launch.
Very unfortunate that I will not be at the audio launch of #ImaikkaaNodigal due to prior commitments , Nevertheless I wish my entire Team All the very best to emerge as Winners . ??

The trailer of the film shows the cat-and-mouse game that the killer (played by a chilling Anurag Kashyap) plays with CBI officer Anjali (Nayanthara) and Atharvaa’s character. And, towards the end, Vijay Sethupathi makes an entrance with his famous line: “Are you okay, baby?”
The producer of the film said that the script was originally written for a male lead, but once Nayanthara came on board, the script was tweaked for her.
Though it’s a thriller, the film also focuses on a strong emotional bond between the siblings – Atharvaa and Nayanthara. Raashi Khanna is also part of the film.
