Early this morning, Income Tax officials raided properties belonging to actor Sarath Kumar, in connection with allegations of bribery during the RK Nagar by-elections. Tamil Nadu Health Minister Vijayabhaskar’s home was also inspected by the officers, according to reports.
A spokesperson for Sarath Kumar has refused to comment.
The raid on Sarath Kumar’s house comes just days after the actor pledged to support TTV Dinakaran in the elections. Sarath Kumar heads the All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi (AISMK). He has pledged to support Dinakaran in his capacity as party chief, and is expected to campaign on his behalf.
