Shankar’s assistant director, Murli Manohar, who was a part of I‘s team, has alleged that Aascar has not paid him for the past two months. Speaking to us, Murli said,”I have worked night and day for this film and have faced many challenges with the other assistants. We have not been paid for the past two months and even our enquiry as to why the payment is delayed was brushed off. I have a wife and child to support and many other commitments as well. ”

Aascar Ravichandran, producer of the film, has denied the allegations. “We have a set protocol for payment and we always follow it. Everything has been done correctly and all settlements have been made.”
The film has been made on a lavish budget of over 150 crores and has been in production for the past two years. The production house has been hit with rumours of bankruptcy over the past few months – it suffered huge losses with Thirumanam Enum Nikkah and Vallinam. The reports about late payment have only strengthened these rumours.
