Commotion broke out at Kee’s audio launch this morning, forcing Vijay Sethupathi to exclaim, “I’m confused if this is this an audio launch or a producers’ council meeting?”

At the audio launch, PL Thenappan, who had produced Silambarasan’s Vallavan, questioned TFPC president Vishal Krishna on why he hadn’t taken action when Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan (AAA)’s producer Michael Rayappan had filed a complaint against STR in December last year.
Soon enough, Ramachandran, the producer of Winner and an executive committee member of the producers’ council, rushed to Vishal’s defence. Thenappan continued to outrage stating that instead of giving a clarification, STR completely ignored the issued.
To give a little background: Back in December last year, Rayappan and director Adhik Ravichandran, at a quickly convened press meet, denounced STR for the losses they incurred due to the failure of AAA. They also accused the actor of delaying the project.
Vishal implored to the people present at the audio launch to invite him as an actor, and not as the president of the TFPC or Nadigar Sangam. “With regards to Rayappan, I would like to apologise for it. We are like a big family, and we should be together and have each other’s backs. So let’s wait for some more time. You have to be patient with such issues,” he said.
He also spoke of his upcoming film Irumbu Thirai’s release date, and said that he will postpone his film so that Kee can release on February 9. “I am ready to work for free for Rayappan. When we sent the complaint to STR, he didn’t respond at all,” he added.
Amid all the bickering and heckling, Vijay Sethupathi decided to walk out but was stopped by the organisers. Taking the stage, he said, “I am confused, is this an audio launch or a producers’ council meeting?”
“Like every family, there will be a lot of issues. We are one family, people will talk, and it should be within us,” he added.
Amidst all the melee, Kee’s audio was launched. Directed by Kalees, the film is a sci-fi psychological thriller starring Jiiva, Govind Padmasoorya, Nikki Galrani, Anaika Soti, Suhasini, and has music by Vishal Chandrasekhar. The film is produced by Michael Rayappan.
