Aishwarya Rajesh, who essays a pivotal role in the yet unreleased Kakka Muttai, is on cloud nine with the film’s National Awards haul. The film – about two young boys who set about to get their first taste of pizza – has received rave reviews on the festival circuit and has also fetched the ‘Best Child Artist’ award for its male leads – Ramesh and Vignesh.
Aishwarya Rajesh told us that she was not surprised at the film’s winning spree. “As soon as I heard the story, I knew that it had the potential to go on and win National Awards. When all these awards were announced today, I was waiting to see Kakka Muttai’s name in the list.”

Of her co-actors, Ramesh and Vignesh, Iyshwarya was all praise. “I’m extremely proud to have shared screen space with them. They come from a very modest background and to see them getting awards at such an early age and in their very first attempt itself..well, I must say that I’m elated for them.”
Her director Manikandan also came in for praise. “He is a talented director. I don’t think there are that many debutant filmmakers who get an award for their first film. I feel truly blessed to have worked on this film and can’t wait to see it in Chennai and to have all of you watch it as well.”
Kakka Muttai has been jointly produed by Vetrimaaran and Dhanush. The film will release shortly.
