Jackie Shroff, who was seen in Mayavan, is currently working on another Tamil film Pandimuni, directed by Kasthuri Raja. The actor will be playing aghori, a Siva devotee in the film.
While the shoot for the film underway, the actor and director met the press yesterday. Jackie Shroff said, “I just did whatever the director wanted. It is his dream, his brainchild. I have been shooting for the film only for the past six months; he has worked on this film for the past six years.”
“I play an aghori, who is a lord Siva devotee. The story revolves around an aghori named Muniswaran, who does good, and a devil named Pandi, who wants to destroy all. When I say aghori, it doesn’t mean the ones who shout and create a mess, this aghori believes in patience and does things patiently,” he said about his role in the film.
The director spoke about the film’s plot, and said that it will showcase the power of yoga and is about the struggle between good and evil, played by Jackie’s Muniswaran and the female lead Meghali’s Pandiamma.

Adding that he wanted Jackie to dub his portions, director Kasturi Raja said, “When I told Jackie that the role was of an aghori, he immediately called me home for a detailed story discussion. Once I narrated the script, he just disappeared for half hour, and came back wearing a saffron cloth wrapped around him. I was impressed with his sincerity.”
The aghori in the film will not be like a typical Siva sadhu found on the banks of Ganga in Kasi, the director said, “Muniswaran is a proponent of peace and believes that silence is a powerful weapon.”
The shooting for the film, which commenced earlier, has been happening in places like Javadhu hills in Thiruvannamalai. Almost 60-70 percent is said to be done. Pegged to be a horror thriller, the film is expected to release later this year.
