Madhura Raja is a spin-off of the Mammootty-Prithviraj starrer Pokkiri Raja. Prithviraj makes a cameo appearance in the Malayalam film. Sunny Leone will be starring in an item song.
Pokkiri Raja, written by Udayakrishna and Siby K Thomas, and directed by Vyshakh, released in 2010 to become a huge success. In Madhura Raja, Mammootty reprises his role of Raja from the original. Pokkiri Raja featured Prithviraj as Mammootty’s brother, and Shriya Saran as Prithviraj’s girlfriend.
Madhura Raja will not be carrying forward the story of Pokkiri Raja, and will be a standalone film. The shoot commenced in August 2018, and is said to be the costliest film in Mammotty’s career so far.
