Jayam Ravi has said that rapists must be given capital punishment. In a recent interview, the actor said that his upcoming film, Adanga Maru, deals with the brutal crimes committed against women in the country.
“Extreme punishment should be given to rapists and sex offenders than how it is being dealt with in our country at present. Not only on a personal note, this is what I advocate in my upcoming film Adanga Maru.”
Ravi said that the team is ready to face any controversy ahead of the film’s release. “We are ready to face it,” he asserted.
The actor said that children must be taught good values. “It should start at home. Normally elders in the family tell a boy ‘boys don’t cry.’ But I raise my sons telling them ‘don’t make girls cry’. I am not saying this for publicity sake. I mean it and my film also imparts the same, which I feel is very important.”
The movie has eight villains. Jayam Ravi plays an honest police officer who is not allowed to function properly by his higher officials.
The actor, whose son Aarav made his feature film debut in Tik Tik Tik, said that he received around 25 offers post the release of the movie. At present, Ravi has decided to not push Aarav to commit to a film career.

Jayam Ravi also said that he had been approached by Netflix to do a web-series based on Tik Tik Tik. “Netflix wanted to make a web series out of my space movie Tik Tik Tik. They approached me as well. I was wondering if I have to go through those strenuous experiences once again (laughs). So, I am not thinking about it now.”
Adanga Maru has Jayam Ravi, Raashi Khanna in lead roles. Directed by Karthik Thangavel, the film is scheduled to release on December 21.
