The mafia musical, Jigarthanda, has just been censored and is all set to release! The movie, starring actor Siddharth, Lakshmi Menon and Bobby Simha in lead roles, has been awarded the U/A certificate, courtesy a few violent scenes. Director Karthik Subbaraj doesn’t seem to mind though. On his social media page, he posted, “Jigarthanda is completely ready to be served..the film will release anytime soon!” The Pizza director also mentioned that he will now concentrate on a new script. While he has not divulged any details on this ‘new script’ of his, Subbaraj does guarantee that it won’t be similar to any of his older ones.
Jigarthanda, which has been selected as one among the ‘Most Anticipated Movies of 2014’ by Forbes magazine, follows a young author who gets on the wrong side of the Madurai mafia. Produced by S Kathireshan for Group Company, the distribution rights for the film have been secured by Sun Pictures.
