Apart from singing, the two stalwarts will be sharing screen space in this bilingual (Malayalam and Tamil) production. The video song which released on Monday features various artistes from Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

The song titled Ayya Sami shows the cultural and artistic bond that the two states share. The Malayalam version of the film is titled Kinar and the Tamil version is called Keni. M Jayachandran has composed the music with lyrics written by Harinarayanan BK and Palani Bharathi.

The movie, which is being produced under the banner of Fragrant Nature Film Creations, is written and directed by M.A Naushad. The main plot of the movie is the water scarcity that’s prevalent on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border.

The movie stars Jaya Prada, Revathy, Pasupathy, Parthipan, Archana, Nasser, Parvathy Nambiar, Indrans, Renji Panicker, Joy Mathew and Anu Hasan.

Earlier in an interview with The Times Of India, director Naushad said that the movie tries to convey the importance of water. “In our side, there would be an abundance of water, and people would even take bath twice, but if you cross over to the Tamil Nadu side, people would be in desperate need of water. In the film, a well becomes the source of conflict; it is one of the characters,” he said.
