Kaadu Pookkunna Neram & Visaaranai Compete For BAFTA Nominations

The Malayalam film Kaadu Pookkunna Neram is competing for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award nominations this year in the Best Foreign Language Cinema category.  Written and directed by Dr Biju Damodaran, the film revolves around the conflict between the forces of authority and activists who fight for the rights of marginalised. Starring Rima Kallingal, Indrajith Sukumuran, Kaadu Pookkunna Neram released this September to critical acclaim.

National Award winning Tamil film Visaaranai is also among the 39 films competing in this category

Kaadu Pookkunna Neram is also competing in seven other categories, including Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Cinematography.

The nominations will be declared on January 10 after the first selection phase is complete.
