Kaatrin Mozhi’s teaser captures the key elements of the original – Tumhari Sulu. Jyothika is seen practicing that husky voice that lands her a late night radio show. Her life at home is established, via a couple of funny sequences involving her husband, played by Vidharth, and their son.
Lakshmi Manchu plays the radio station chief, who gives Jyothika’s character (referred to in a song as Vijayalakshmi) her very own late night show. In the teaser, she is shown coaching Jyothika on her on-air voice. Also present is Sandra, who plays a fellow RJ in the film. Overall, the teaser stays true to the original.
Radha Mohan, who collaborated with Jyothika in Mozhi, returns to direct this remake. This is his second remake this year, after Arubadhu Vayadhu Maaniram starring Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj and Induja in lead roles.

Actor Kumaravel, a constant presence in Radha Mohan’s films, has an important role here as well. Mohan Raman, MS Bhaskar, Uma also have central roles in this film that follows a homemaker, frequently mocked for her lack of education and her business ideas. She eventually finds her way into a late night relationship advice radio show.
Jointly produced by Dhananjayan of BOFTA Media Works and Creative Entertainers, the film will release in October this year.
