Director Deekay’s next is reportedly a black-comedy thriller, and he is currently in talks with Kajal Aggarwal to play the female lead. According to The Times of India, the director had planned on roping in Nayanthara first, but has now approached Kajal. Soon after his last film Kavalai Vendam – which starred Kajal – Deekay had announced that he would be coming up with a script soon.
“Kajal is definitely my first choice, but I haven’t signed her yet. In fact, we haven’t signed anyone for the project. Everything is still in the discussion stage,” he said.

Nayanthara, who has a slew of films this year including Dora, Imaikaa Nodigal, Aramm, Kolayuthir Kaalam, Velaikkaran, and as well as debutant director Bharat Krishnamachari’s untitled venture, will not be a part of the project. “A production house wanted me to write a script for a project with Nayanthara. Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish the script as planned, and the plan fell through,” Deekay told ToI.
Thus far, the director has confirmed a sequel to his 2014 film, Yaamirukka Bayamey but is yet to start working on it.
