Sarjun KM, who shot to fame with short films like Maa and Lakshmi, is making a horror film with Nayanthara in the lead. According to the latest news, Kalaiyarasan will be a part of the project. However, the director clarified that it’s not the role of the male lead.
Sarjun told The Times Of India that the film has four to five important supporting characters, the actor will be playing one of them. Sarjun promises that the role and its characterisation is very different from what the actor usually essays. He also revealed that Yogi Babu will have an important character to play.
The film is bankrolled by KJR studios, this is their third film after Aramm and Gulebagavali.
Talking to Silverscreen about the film, Sarjun said, “After Maa was released, I got a call from Rajesh sir (Kotapadi J Rajesh of KJR Studios) who asked me if I had a one-liner for Nayanthara. He added that they preferred a horror drama. He heard the story I had in mind, and then made me sit with Nayanthara who liked it too. In fact, she had liked ‘Maa’ a lot.”

“Several horror dramas release every year, but except a few like Pisaasu and Aval, there aren’t many memorable films. If a particular theme or idea succeeds, people tend to repeat that a lot in the film industry, and things start getting very bland and monotonous. But, someone is sure to break that spell,” he added.
