Premam director Alphonse Puthren’s Tamil film with Kalidas Jayaram has been dropped, say reports. The director is currently working on a fresh script in Tamil.
Two years after the release of Premam, Alphonse Puthren had announced in April 2017 that he was set to start work on his next film. The director took to social media to make a casting call. “I’m going to start working on the third film which has nothing new in it. This time, we are looking for a girl who knows to sing and act. Age 16- 26. About the film’s cast and crew, I will update later. The film will be in Tamil,” the director wrote.
There were speculations about Siddharth and Kalidas Jayaram being in talks to star in the film. Kalidas Jayaram confirmed his participation in March last year saying “I have signed Alphonse Putharen’s Tamil film. It has an interesting storyline. I am a fan of Alphonse chettan’s films and feel lucky to be part of this one,” quoted India Today.
Latest reports suggest that the director has dropped this project and is working on a new script. “Alphonse Puthren is busy shaping up a fresh script in Tamil,” said a source as quoted by in.com.
There had also been reports that the director was working on a film with Mohanlal. But there are no official confirmations regarding the same.
