Actor Arvind Swami will next be seen in director Rajapandi’s Kallapart. The actor, who established himself as a versatile star with his comeback Thani Oruvan, will be seen with actress Regina Cassendra in Kallapart. The movie is in the last stage of shooting, and is expected to release in April.
Speaking to Silverscreen, director Rajapandi said, “I always wanted to do a film with minimal characters and I came up with this movie’s script. When I approached Arvind Swami for this story, he liked and agreed to do it. He has played many roles in various films. But this one will be different from all. He plays the role of a hardware engineer. You will see a new version of Arvind Swami in this movie.”
He said, “Also, this story needed lead characters with age differences. We thought of many options for the female lead and we finalized Regina Cassandra. She plays the role of a choreographer. Baby Monika of Ratsasan fame has an important role. More than love, this film carries the emotions and sentiments of friendship, betrayal. So it’s more like an emotional thriller.”
When asked about the title Kallapart, he explained, “During those days, artists those who played the role of a king was called Rajapart, and the queen was Sreepart in stage plays. Likewise, those who played the thief was Kallapart. I felt this would be apt, and at the same time, unique for my story.”
