Kalyan Ram’s next film will be directed by Jayendra, on a script by the writer duo SuBa.
P.C Sreeram, Jayendra’s friend and business partner is the cinematographer, according to a report in TOI.
Jayendra said, “This is Kalyan’s 15th film. We have shortlisted three girls for the heroine’s role, and we will be finalising the cast in the coming days.”
Pitched as a feel-good romance, Jayendra believes the story and the genre have more takers in Telugu than in Tamil, and hence his decision to make the film in Telugu.
He said,
“Of late, I feel it’s not possible to attract audiences with metro-centric romantic films in Tamil while there is a family audience for feel-good romantic films in Telugu.”
Jayendra last film – Nootrenbadhu, starring Priya Anand and Siddharth, was made in both Tamil and Telugu. The film was written by writer-duo Suresh and Balakrishnan – popularly known as SuBa – and Jayendra jointly.
