Ahead of Kamal Haasan’s much speculated political entry and Rajinikanth’s impending debut in politics, Chaaru Haasan, Kamal Haasan’s brother, said in a recent media interaction that the actors cannot achieve success just by virtue of being movie stars.
“Even if Rajini and Kamal join together, they will be able to gather only 10 per cent votes in the elections. 90 per cent votes will go to politicians only. The chances are very less for both of them to establish themselves in politics. People won’t vote for anybody just because they are [a] film personality. People never voted for MGR just because he was a film star. They never elected Jayalalithaa just because she is a star. If people are film-crazy, Jayalalithaa wouldn’t have lost elections twice,” Chaaru Haasan told Thanthi TV in an interview.
He also said, “As far as I know Rajini, he will never get into politics and start his own party.”
Meanwhile, Kamal, in a tweet appreciating Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, said:
Bravo Travancore Dewasom board.Salute to Kerala CM Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan.4 appointing 36 non-Brahmin priests. Periar's dream realized
